DESCRIPTION:Galway Patrick’s Day message. \nJoin us as we assemble together to watch the Patrick’s Day parade in Galway city. \nWe will be holding peace flags and placards for neutrality and peace\, to keep Irish troops as peacekeepers\, and to keep the Triple Lock. \nAnyone who agrees with the message is welcome to come and stand with us\, or stand anywhere along the parade route with a peace flag or placard of similar sentiment. To assemble with us please meet up at 11am at the Liam Mellows statue\, which is near the end of the parade route and opposite the ‘dignitaries stand’. (Early to get a good position). \nUnfortunately\, we all need to make our own placards (cardboard ones will do) so bring yours along.  To convey a unified message please try to incorporate  ‘keep the triple lock’ on them- as that is the fight Michael Martin/Simon Harris/Helen McEntee are waging against us now. Political rather than party political signs are more unifying too. This is a civil society campaign. \nWear you Irish Black Shamrock peace badges if you have one. If the weather is good enough we hope to sell the Black Shamrock  badges at the parade  (proceeds to Medical Aid for Palestinians). \nKeep Ireland Neutral- Keep the Triple Lock. \nUN PEACE-KEEPERS not EU BATTLE-TROOPERS. SUMMARY:Shannon Airport Peace Camp - Sat 4th and Sun 5th July
DESCRIPTION:It starts this Saturday at 6am and finished on Sunday at 6pm. All are welcome to come whenever might suit them. The 6am start is because that is around the time of the arrivals of the flights from the US. The ‘peace camp’ will be right there at the Peace roundabout at the entrance to the airport.  It is visible by traffic (so good for the protest messaging) and well lit (so safer for the overnighters)\nSome basic food will be available e.g a big curry for sharing\nIf you are going for the night\, bring a tent.\nFor the overnighters there will be music\, chit chatting\, networking and a workshop to discuss the upcoming 25th anniversary celebrations at Shannon Airport. Ways to celebrate the actions taken over the years and the activists who took them will be discussed.\nDuring the usual Sunday Vigil hours (9am-12pm) there will be a reading of the names of children killed in various illegal wars in West Asia.
