*WALK for PEACE ACROSS IRELAND: Starts  TUESDAY MARCH 31st 2026 1pm at SHANNON AIRPORT, COUNTY CLARE 

*91 year old film-maker and activist Lelia Doolan will embark on a peace walk from Shannon Airport on Tuesday 31st March in protest of the US military’s use of the County Clare airport.

*Lelia and Shannonwatch have organised the walk, to be accompanied by activists, friends, supporters and members of the public on various parts of the walk which will start from Shannon airport to walk 216km through Cratloe, Limerick, Birdhill, Nenagh, Moneygall, Roscrea, Mountrath, Portlaoise, Monasterevin, Newbridge, Naas, and Rathcoole, before making the final trip from Dublin Castle to Dáil Éireann on WEDNESDAY APRIL 15th.

*All in agreement with the sentiments of the peace walk are invited to come along. Take part in whatever way they can, or volunteer for a role in the event.

“No group is too small, no distance is too short – music and merriment are welcome,” co-organisers Shannonwatch said.

“We invite people of all ages and communities to join with us. Walk a stretch in solidarity with Lelia or even just see us off from your location.”
